It was Mew...

This morning, my friend and me found an unusual cartridge of Pokemon Blue, that had the sentence "It was Mew" written on its back. Being lovers of mystery, we decided to buy it and try it.
But once we arrived at his house, my mother called me to do some things, so my friend promised me to start de investigation and then bring it to me.

And I'm waiting. Around four-five hours have passed, and he's still without calling or anything. I'm starting to feel anxious to start my investigation.
After a few more minutes, my friend calls. I'm too fast for my mother and I take the phone first. Sometimes the impatience makes you go so fast, heheh.

As I say the normal "Hello?" I can hear my friend breathing heavily. I start to feel worried, and I keep asking him if he's alright or not, but he only keeps breathing. I'm starting to be scared…
But after a few minutes, he says something. Too low the first time, but understandable the second.

"It was….Mew…"

Wait what? He was saying the sentence on the cartridge? Oh come on, if this is a joke, it's not funny. I say him I'm going to his house, and after the conversation, I leave mine.

Some minutes later, I'm back with the game. His mother only gave the game to me, telling me my friend was in bed, because he caught fever. Maybe he became sick while he was playing, and started to have hallucinations.

Well, now the game is in my hands. Lets see…

I put the game in my Game Boy Color, and I turn it on. First the Gamefreak, ok ok, then the trainer with some Pokemon and the title, very well, then the normal "New Game" "Continue" etc.

Ok, all right. Now lets see. I start in Lavender Town. Nice place, my favourite in the game. I love how quiet and peaceful is it, and the music…I love it. My first place to go? The tower, of course. Once I'm in, I start to feel the peace I felt when I was a child every time I went into this place.
Now, time to check my team. Wow, really strong Pokemons:

Mewtwo  lvl: 100
Pidgeot    lvl: 100
Dragonite lvl: 90
Aerodactyl lvl: 95
Blastoise   lvl: 100
Mew         lvl: 100

Oh great! A Mew! I never had one!! But then I remember the sentence that is written on the cartridge and my friend said: "It was Mew".

Bah, surely it just a joke. As i¡m going up the tower I keep finding Cubones and Gastly, but nothing strange. Oh well, how boring.
I stop at the top of the tower. Nothing. Anything happened to me. Neither a Mew yelling at me or cursing me. Nothing.
I start to go down again, back to the entrance. But as I walk, the people in different part of the tower keep looking at me. Maybe a glitch, sometimes happens. As I find the entrance, suddenly my character, named as Blue (oh, what a cooool name ¬¬) stuck in his feet. O great, now a bug.

I try to move, but nothing. The "you can't pass trough here" sound keeps annoying my ears. Finally, I decide to just leave the place. I open the start menu, go to the items, but The only thing I find is a Pokeball.

Just a stupid Pokeball. Ok, what I'm going to do with this? Oh well. I decide to turn off my GBC and start it again. I turn it off and…..wait….the game keeps playing.
OH, COME ON!!! Now the game glitched my GBC??

I try to turn it on and off several times, before suddenly the game allows me to move again. So I just exit the tower. The Lavender's track starts to play in my GBC, as I keep walking. I try to talk with the people of the town, but the keep giving me their backs. Oh well, first people watching me, now ignoring me.

Great. I decide to leave the town, but again Blue is not allowed to walk further than the exit of it. So I stay.
I enter in the houses, in every place, but only to find people not paying attention to me. Ok, is that the game? Is this the mystery? A glitchy game that keeps making me feel annoyed and angry?

I decide to remove the cartridge, but first try to turn off my GBC. But when I'm going to do it, I find that my GBC switch is already put in off….I was playing all this time with my GBC being off….
I try to remove them game, but it's to hard. The music keeps playing, and, without being able to remove the cartridge, I stare at the screen again. I find a text box with the following text.

"Do you really know you can just turn my world off?"
"You decided to take my freedom"
"I'm the only one in my race, and I was captured by you"

Ok, this is starting to scare me…
After the text box, Blue is able to move again, so I decide to just leave him in the middle of the town. And then, I leave the GBC on my table, just staring at it, without touching.
I'm scared now. This game is talking to me. A Pokemon game never says something to the player. What is wrong with this game?

After a bit, another text box.

"Why are you not playing? You took my freedom, now don't leave me here without doing a thing."

I push the A button.

"Please, I want to see you…."

For the first time, a thought passes trough my mind. I take a look on my team, and I see that all my pokemons are not moving when I put the cursor over them. When I see their stats, all of them have blood coming out from their eyes. Every one of them… wait… no….


Mew….

I hesitate to see his stats. What if I…fall sick like my friend? What is I see something like the urban legends about Pokemon, Like "Lost Silver" or the Black game?...
No. Now is the time to solve this.

I open Mew stats. But for my surprise, they are normal. No blood, no scary things….just normal…
I leave the start menu, and try to move, but again, I'm not able. Wait….I'm not able? Blue is not able! I'm the player, I'm out of the game!! I can move!

I try to move my leg…but I can't. I try to move my arms, my body, anything!! I'm starting to panic!!
The only thing I can do is stare at the screen…
Another text box…

"You think you can do anything you want? Now I saw you, I can take from you what you took from me…."

"Freedom"

"See? Is hard to no be able to do what you want, right?"

I nod. I try to move, but I can't! I say sorry to him. For the love of everything, I'm saying sorry to a stupid pixel picture!! But if this can make me move again…
Wait…what if I release him?

Good idea! I go into the Pokemon Center. Once I go into, the nurse looks like a corpse…everyone looks like a corpse…oh hell oh hell, I must find the computer.

I'm in front of it. Ok, now…Mew….release….yeah….

…!! I CAN'T!! I CAN'T RELEASE HIM!!!

"Do you really think you can escape from me like this? After all the years I suffered in your team…"

"No…of course not…"

"Now you are like me…you can't do whatever you want to do…"

"Being in a team, forced to follow someone's order, not able to move by yourself and forced to go wherever your trainer wants to go…"

"And now…you'll remember forever…who took your freedom.."

Yes…I know who took it….
I know who took my freedom…
